Rating and certifications

Nordic Blu is rated and certified by three independent organizations. This ensures that our salmon is produced in line with the highest standards within sustainability, animal welfare, working life, and the environment. These ratings and certifications are your guarantee for sustainable and responsibly produced salmon.

Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch

Our salmon is produced according to worlds most rigid sustainability standards; Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch-program. Seafood Watch is the most recognized consumer guide for sustainable seafood alternatives, and rank both wild fish stocks and fish farming by their impact on marine life. The program has 57 million consumer guides spread globally. Today, Norwegian salmon is red listed in the program, but salmon from Salten Aqua (Nordic Blu) is the first and only Atlantic salmon farmed in open net pens that is rated “Best Choice” by the Seafood Watch program.
